Magazine Shoot 1 Work Record -2

In this lesson I started my image banks and discovered the use of written text in story telling, thus, magazines, I did not use text however I shot photos as if they were in a magazine format, I did not plan to do this shoot, it was more in the moment therefore there wasn't much planning and the shoot didn't actually go that well as it was not I envisioned. However , I liked my model (Demi) and I decided I would do a reshoot of this whatever the outcome as I wanted to do the shoot with her dressed up as if she was a celebrity, also to follow the conventions of a magazine, these photos did not tell a story themselves but the format they would be in would tell a story if I added content. I shot these pictures against a grey background which doesn't follow the conventions of a magazine shoot. The photos I shot were very natural which I like and I didn't edit them obviously to leave a sense of realism and honesty to the picture which produces honesty in the story of the magazine.

In this picture I took it whilst she didn't know and I made her laugh, this to me is a very nice natural picture however I wouldn't of chose it for my straight prints for a magazine format, however Paul did therefore I left it unedited because if i wanted it to be a natural photo of her laughing, i didn't want to ruin it by over editing.

In this picture I like the way Demi is looking straight at the camera and her face is sort of shadowed over as to me it reveals a part of her that we dont know despite the fact that she is a celebrity (pretending to be in this shoot). Also in magazine shoots the celebrities are often seen wearing some sort of designer, therefore I made her face her wrist forward as it is Michael Kors and contained that element of something designer. In this photo i edited her eye make up and lipstick to make it a bit brighter and heavier, I like this effect and I personally don't think her make up looks edited .

I wasn't overly please with the outcome of this shoot but I didn't expect much of it, I intend to re shoot it where she is wearing more dressy clothes and against a more conventional white background.
